Review

Sins of a Solar Empire is a great real-time strategy game. Sins focuses on Space war more than anything. There are three factions that you can use. There is a group of human planets, an alien race that wants to kill everything and a bunch of humans that want to spread their word by force. You can play as any of them. The game is great in that it allows the player to actually take war to more than a chunk of space. There are whole solar systems that can be colonized and then defended. You start with a single planet, and from there, you have to spread to the farthest places of the universe to overcome your enemies. Although the game is real-time, sometimes it feels like it is turn-based, since it takes so long for actions to complete. But that allows you to control more than a handful of ships at a time. You can control several fleets of ships across several systems. There are different types of planets and celestial bodies that you can use, and you have to develop technologies for each one of them. This is one of those addictive games that you wish would never end.
Advantages
  • Great story.
  • Magnificent scenarios.
